Vadia Potenza Is All Ears About Being Spock

While his time on-screen might have been brief, Vadia Potenza is one of the few actors to play Spock in Star Trek history. Today, his journey through Hollywood brought him to a different profession that can make or break a film or TV show.

Potenza is best known to Trekkies as one of the young Spocks in “Star Trek 3: The Search for Spock,” and has fond memories of meeting and being directed by Leonard Nimoy, working with Robin Curtis and Lee Remmick, and what it was like to become a Vulcan. We also learn about some of his childhood gigs, including “Father Dowling Mysteries,” why he moved away from performing, where life took him as an adult in directing and editing, and a second chance at playing Spock in an unexpected film.

Plus, being a production assistant with Jim Henson’s studio for the Muppets, stories from BET’s “The Iron Ring” MMA reality tv show, editing A&E biography documentaries, and his job today working with Karamu Brown.
